About art therapy
What is art psychotherapy?
Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses a combination of talk therapy and creativity to explore feelings, emotions and relationships. It is a powerful tool for self-expression, self-regulation, self-understanding and improving emotional well-being.
You may relish the opportunity to be creative, or you might find the idea quite daunting. Don't worry, you don't have to be artistic and you don’t have to know exactly what you want to talk about.
We will work it out together.

About me
What is an art psychotherapist?
Hi, I'm Laura,
I am a trauma-informed, integrative Art Therapist trained in psychotherapy (or talking therapy) and in using multiple art forms—including visual art, movement, music, writing, and other creative processes—as tools for exploration, expression, and transformation.
'Art therapist' is a protected title in the UK, which means I have been trained to Masters Level and must meet certain legal standards set by the Health Care Professionals Council (registration pending).
My role is to support you to reconnect with your strengths, emotions and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. I will try help you express what may be difficult to put into words, so that you can feel empowered to make meaningful choices.

I believe in working with my clients to find the tools and methods that work best for you. Together we will develop a therapeutic pathway to help you with the areas you wish to focus on, at a pace that works for you.

I look forward hearing from you soon.
